The battered states on the Gulf Coast are not doing well at the moment. Katrina has decimated them. I have kept up with news reports fairly well and I can only come to the conclusion that without societal order there can only be chaos. Looting, rape, murder, arcen. Its hard to focus on only the bad things going on down there but they truly overshadow everything else. I am also starting to get tired of trashing the president. I cannot stand Bush, not in the least bit, but there has been so much hot air spewed by so many people in the last year without anything materializing that I have been starting to bite my toungue when it comes to occasions in which he has fallen short in his leadership role. He has failed again with his handling of Katrina. There are too many things to point out, some short term failures, alot of long term failures. I can only think that if something were to affect the whole nation to this scope, or the whole world even, that we would all be acting in this same violent way. It it is without a doubt every man for himself, eye for an eye, a wild wild west scenario. Some good things that have come out of this: CNN has actually impressed me with their coverage... finally. I don't know if this will carry over to their reporting after this is all done with, but for now I can only stand impressed. Also it has given me the motivation to blog again, and since I sometimes feel embarrassed to leak my feelings this tragedy has been a good catalyst.
